I am fairly new to glasses and just recently asked about getting contacts. I have astigmatism and my prescription is fairly strong (but my right eye and left eye are quite different).

Anyway. My eye dr. told me I will need to get two different boxes (one for my right eye and one for my left) and total it will be about $200/month. I didn’t realize they would be that expensive and am curious to know if that’s a common price?

I have been doing some research online and have noticed there are quite a few websites where you can order contacts directly once you get a prescription, is that a good option? Is that allowed, or do I need to get them directly from my doctor? I would like to compare prices if possible.

I will obviously ask my dr. these questions but am worried he will tell me I’m not allowed to get them from a place besides the office. Is that allowed? Help please😊
