Chapped lips or something else?

I noticed starting today my cutie pie had a little bit of dry skin on the corner of his mouth, now hours later it looks dark, and more like a little bump now instead of just some flaky chapped lips? I’m not sure what is it? Is it normal? He’s not even 2 weeks

Add some of the nipple lotion to his lips some babies just get chapped lips both my sons had chapped lips bad as a baby

Is he breastfeed?  Maybe his latch is a little off and that corner if his mouth is rubbing between his gums and your breast while he’s nursing?  If you are nursing, rub a little breast milk on it a few times a day. Breast milk does amazing things for healing skin issues. If you have lanolin, that would also be safe to put a tiny bit on.
