Wait for period or take progesterone ?

So I’ve been off the pill for over 1yr. I have annovulation so the Dr told me to wait for my period & take Clomid. I never know when my period will start. So he recommended to take progesterone if I don’t start my period. So my question is should I wait for my period or should I just take it? Which option would help increase my chances? Any suggestions and why will help. Thanks everyone ☺️

Neither will increase your chances. Both are just fine. If you don't want to be waiting a potentially long time for your period to come, I would just take the progesterone. I have done that 5 times, including once before a round of Clomid.

My doctor always told me to wait it out until cd 35 and then take the provera (this was back when I was just working with an OB)

Whichever option you chose, your chances dont depend on it. So if its already been more than 4 weeks since your last period, id take the progesterone
