I'm just engaged as of October and only have a vision of my wedding, not a plan but I love the big lacey romantic alines and ballgowns for my dress and something a little more upscale.

Well, my mother called me today and said she can make my dress for me. She has never made a dress before. She does sew quilts and pillows but never a dress, let alone a wedding dress and I have flashbacks from 2008 when she was hemming & cut my sweatpants so short that they were capis after.

She said she can do a Meaghan Markle dress and that she found a pattern but I told her I don't like those kind of dresses and sent her pictures of my inspo and she still says she can do it. Am I an ass for wanting to go dress shopping and not trusting my Mom? I kinda feel bad but I don't want to have something falling apart or something I hate when my pictures will last forever. She never did this with my sister 10 years ago.
