Why is my daughters old daycare provider calling us?

So my toddler was in daycare until March of last year and out of the blue last night our old provider called me (around 8pm) and left a message asking me to call her back (she literally just asked me to call her back in the message there were no details). We already have our receipt for tax season so idk why she’s calling us. Any ideas on why she might be calling? I’d rather not have to talk to her if I don’t have to.

I’d answer it, maybe she found some art work or a toy or something that belonged to your daughter.

That's weird she called so late...I'd just leave it. If it's really important, she'll call again and leave a more detailed message.

My guess would be their calling to see if you’re interested in reenrolling. We pulled our son in March due to the pandemic with every intention of taking him back when things got better. They’ve checked in a couple of times to see how we’re doing and if we’re still keeping him home. We had a very good relationship though, so it didn’t seem strange at all that they reached out.

She could be asking if she could use you as a reference for future jobs, I’ve had old daycare providers reach out to me if they worked directly with my child.

Maybe to re-enroll. We’ve had centers we interviewed with when I was pregnant with our first (almost 5 years ago) call us about enrolling during the pandemic. Or maybe she wants to make sure you got the tax info.

She might be wanting to ask if your current situation with your daughter are? Meaning if your enrolling her anywhere.... a lot of places are barely meeting the required amount of children to stay open. I wrk at a daycare and we lose kids every other month
