Birthday parties
My SO’s family is larger than mine. 4 siblings and they all have 1-4 kids each. My daughter’s birthday is 10 days apart from one of the cousins (born same year). Then there’s a group of 4 cousins from 3 families with birthdays within 2 week span. Anyways we got notification that they decided to throw a party this year on my daughters birthday ( 10 days early). We’re 4 weeks away. I’m trying not to overreact because it’s ‘just a birthday’. Turning 5 😭 But I can’t help but feel a little upset because I had things I wanted to do on her birthday. I think it would have been nice if they had just texted saying hey I know it’s ‘so and so’s birthday but we need to have ‘blah blah’s birthday early this year’. Just a heads up that’s all or ‘hope you understand’. Would your family or SO’s family do something like that and not saying anything upfront? It’s not like a big party it’s immediate family. We all know when everyone’s birthdays and anniversary’s are?
