How often do your 1 year olds listen to ‘no’?

I’m a FTM. My husband gets so frustrated when our son doesn’t listen when told no. I feel like this is a normal baby thing to do and I don’t let it bother me (most times). I know he knows what no means because sometimes he will cry knowing he has to stop something, and other times he laughs while continuing to do it. Thoughts?

Sounds exactly like my son. Every day I am pulling him away from the recycling or dog food about 10,000 times. It's exhausting.

My daughter knows that no means no. Only time she doesn’t listen is when I say no, she gives me a smile and if I laugh she knows it’s okay. With her dad if he says no she won’t do it.

Sounds like my son he knows what no means as he will shake his head at me but still carry on. Ive had to get locks on everything because he doesnt play with toys he'd rather play with a hammer out of the random drawer in the kitchen xx

Sounds like my baby. She's very smart and knows what no and yes mean but sometimes doesn't follow. I don't think it's malicious, I think she's just learning. It can be frustrating.

I feel your husband. I’m also 34 weeks pregnant and my husband travels for work. My kid ignores the word no often. I get frustrated but then I get on his level and explain why and what we can do instead. If I need to I put him in a safe place for a few minutes so I can take a breather and that is ok. It’s normal to get frustrated. Your baby is learning but so are you both as parents.
