My fiance and I keep going back and forth about elopement. 
I either want a tiny intimate gathering, or an elopement. 
He is Indian and his family thinks anything smaller than a multiple day thousand people affair is a sad wedding. 
Neither of us like big parties, but he wants his family to accept me (especially because I'm already pregnant), and worries that they won't see a little wedding having the same value. I don't want to spend our savings on a big party neither of us would like. I would rather have a down payment for a house.

We went to the courthouse and called it a day. No one came with us besides our kids and that was it.

We did a courthouse wedding with just our kids and my mom and grandma. It was an amazing day and I loved my wedding. Go for it!

I got married in my sister's backyard with my parents, his dad and my siblings. Paid probably like $400 in total for the license and officiant and my mom cooked the food and my sister did photos. It was lovely. We had planned to do a Vegas wedding at a chapel, but husband is military and the only time off he had was around Christmas which none of my family wanted to travel for as they all have small kids.
