Toddler (16mos) drinking a TON of water-should i be worried?

My little one LOVES Water and will drink a full 12oz cup and then scream for more. He drinks so much that within a short amount of time he will fill his diaper as full as he does in the night or even leak through. I’m getting to the point of wondering if there might be something wrong?

I would definitely talk to your pediatrician. Extreme throat can be a sign of a variety of issues most notably diabetes. But he could also really love water!

I would record daily how much water and how he acts towards it (wanting more) and then call ped and tell them the amounts. they can advise after that! But give them good info like exactly how much!

I mean, sure talk to your doctor if you feel! But don’t panic, there are usually more red flags than only thirst when a child develops type 1 diabetes. Weight loss, frequent and urgent need for urination, lethargy. The deterioration is usually a little faster than most think. I was diagnosed later in life (I was 15) but it was a fairly quick road to hospitalization. I felt like I had a bad flu and had a constant metallic taste in my mouth. I craved milk, not water oddly enough. I still do when I slip and take crappy care of my sugars. 
Just monitor the water intake, and report to the doctor if other symptoms show up :)

Nothing Is wrong !! My son drinks Only water and lots of water. It’s good for them! Better than juice and soda. There is nothing wrong 💜
