When to get pregnant following a d and c

I just had my first miscarriage last week. I was 14 weeks pregnant but the baby stopped growing after my 11 week ultrasound. I had a d and c last Tuesday and my doctor told me we should wait until April to start trying again. At the time I didn’t think anything of it because I was devastated over our loss.. but do I have to wait until April? I have had two healthy pregnancies prior to this one. 
How long did everyone here wait to try post d and c?

That matches up with what my doctor told me as well. 2 full cycles . He said this will help the uterine lining heal itself and will prevent another loss

My doctor told me I should wait at least until I have my first cycle after the d&c to try again but we tried right afterwards Nd I got pregnant befo my cycle but it was a chemical! So I think after the first cycle you good to go

I started trying as soon as i finished bleeding but... didnt have a cycle for 7 weeks after my d&c 😅 time was crawling by!! Good luck to you dear and im so sorry for ur loss!
