Has anyone ever had kidney stones?

Please explain your symptoms, diagnosis, treatment plan, whatever else you’d like to share! I’m going to the doctor today for chronic off and on left sided flank pain. I’m not sure if that’s what it is, but I’m leaning towards it. I’m scared! Thank you!

Mines was terrible, i was peeing blood while passing it. Very painful. My doctor prescribed me ibuprofen and said drink lots of water😳

I intermittently have severe flank pain. It has mostly gotten better. I had it checked out once because I thought it could be kidney stones or gall stones. 
They never formally figured out what caused it but they think it is from my known issues with chronic acid reflux (I think it is called referred pain, where you feel pain in a part of your body but it actually comes from somewhere else). My urine tested fine and I got an ultrasound of my abdomen and everything checked out okay. No sign of stones. 
Make sure to be your own advocate and push for testing if they don’t immediately offer it. They should test your blood and urine and maybe an ultrasound like I had. If they want to do a wait and see approach I suggest asking them for a clear plan and timeline of what happens next and tell them you will call back sooner if it gets any worse.
