Is it safe to drink Matcha green tea while pregnant?

No!!! Green tea inhibits folic acid uptake. Matcha is extremely potent green tea. On top of that, it has a high caffeine content. Veer away from green tea throughout pregnancy. 
I feel your pain though, I love matcha smoothies and lattes like no other.

Matcha usually has more than 200 mg of caffeine per cup. I drink it straight once in a while and my midwife has no concerns with my baby’s health or growth, but I drink matcha lattes almost on a daily basis. Since you mix it with milk (or milk and ice in my case since I don’t like hot drinks) you use less matcha bringing down the caffeine content quite a bit

My doctor was not really worried about caffeine but did tell me to stay away from many teas including green teas.

You have to be careful of how much caffeine is in the matcha

I think a matcha green tea latte from Starbucks has like 80 mg of caffeine and they recommend no more than 200 mg a day. You should be good! I’ve had one a few times and they are yummy 🤤
