So my boyfriend and I have talked a lot about moving in together and getting married. He has a house he needs to fix up and sell and not having money is a big factor in not moving forward. His dad is now going to front him the money and then let him pay him back from the proceeds of the house. He lives here for the most part but pays absolutely nothing since he has his own house to fully pay for and supposedly saving money.

Since he’s close to fixing up his house and moving in, I said we needed to look at our finances to see how we spend money, etc in order to prepare for living together he has told me numerous times he’s not good with money so if we plan to marry, we need to work on this now. So I finally looked and in the last 2 months he’s spent $2,085 on stupid games on his phone!!! I believed him when we said he didn’t realize how much he spent because he doesn’t keep up with it like he should. The concern for me though is even though this has been brought to his attention, he’s continued to spend $118 in a day! So apparently our future together is not high on his priority list and he’s not concerned about where his money goes. Oh and it’s not like makes a lot of money and he pays child support every month. It just infuriates me because he knows that getting married is important to me and I’d really rather be married before fully moving in together and he says he’d marry me any day but would rather buy me a ring and properly propose but he didn’t have the money. Also the fact that I pay for everything. I spent $600 on groceries alone last month!
