Is 8 days before my period to soon to test? I am new at this and have no idea on how to track my cycle or what to do! Thanks :)

Yes it is. Implantation happens 6-10 days after you ovulate. I tested 5 days before my period and got a faint positive. The closer you are to your period the easier a test will be to read.
