COVID question? ❗️🦠

My brother currently has COVID and is isolated in the other room. 
Anyways my question is, he started his first symptom on January 25 (Monday) and tested on January 27 (Wednesday) which he came out positive. 
1) What we want to know is, when does he retest again? 
2) And when does his quarantine start, the day he got a positive test or the day he started symptoms?

You do NOT retest. You isolate for 10 days from the positive test... then you are free to be around people, unless you still have symptoms. Per the CDC. 
You can test positive for months after, despite no longer being contagious, therefore repeat testing is not recommended.

I have a husband who is a front line hospital employee, and I also have a stepdad who works on a military base and a FIL who is a ￼state rep that both tested positive and were sick. I feel like we’re have a never ending rundown of the strictest ever-updating guidelines 😷

My sister had covid, and same thing as your brother, started having symptoms, didn’t quarantine and isolate until she tested positive and the nurse advised she isolate.
The nurse told her (May say something different to your brother) she can come out of isolation 14 days after her positive test, she didn’t retest. She lives with my parents and siblings and nobody else got it

Isolate from when symptoms started. I had to then had a negative test so no longer had to isolate

Count 14 days from the positive test, regardless when symptoms began. 
Retesting depends on the test. Covid can still show on tests 3 months after depending on the type of test performed. So best to speak to the testing centre or health care about retest
