Do you fast for your first glucose test?

I cant remember if I’m supposed to fast the morning of the glucose test or not! Help please 🥺 i tried leaving a message but it’s hard for anyone to get back to me. The practice i go to has many different doctors and I’ve literally seen a different doctor each of my appointments through out the pregnancy. It sucks and I don’t want to mess up my test and need to go in again!

I think it depends on your doctor. I take mine next week, and my doctor told me to eat before I go since I’m going to be there for a hour. She told me to obviously not eat anything sweet like donuts but something healthy since there testing your sugar levels

I was asked to fast a minimum of 8 hours and no more than 12 hours before my test. My test was at 8am so I ate dinner at 10pm the night before and went to bed. I was allowed to drink water while fasting.

I guess everyone is different but I was told to fast after midnight. I think its better if you fast as you are more likely to get accurate results.

I’ve been allowed to each before my glucose test the last 2 pregnancies. This time I go in about a week and I’ve been instructed again go have breakfast before going. And I’m grateful for that because I have whinro done at the same time so it’s about a 3 hr appointment.

My instructions say to have breakfast but avoid sugar so have protein like eggs! I have mine tomorrow too!

I did mine today and I had suger free coffee and water before it and my doctor said that was fine.

This is my 4th time and my doctor has always said no need to fast. I wouldn't overdue it with sugar that day or night before but you are allowed to eat and drink as you normally would.
