Hook effect?

Anyone have any info on the hook effect? I had a bold positive on a Frer, the test was as dark as control yesterday and I took one this morning with FMU and now its lighter than the control line. Still a bold positive but lighter than yesterday am I having a chemical or can the hook effect happen at almost 5 weeks?

The hook effect causes a negative test. Your urine could be diluted, the test may not be as good as the last one, ect. It is best to stop testing. Youre pregnant. Taking tests will just stress you out. Even if you had a chemical theres nothing you can do. Best to just relax and wait until your appointment. I know its hard. Ive had 2 chemicals and had to wait until 8 weeks for an appointment. But you are causing more harm by stressing out.

If you’re pregnant and you got a positive you need to stop testing. HPT don’t tell you anything other than yes or no so you need to schedule a doctor appt.

As far as I understand the hook effect, it refers to later in pregnancy. But I can't remember exactly
