My February turned January baby
Well, my team green baby turned into team pink.
I woke up January 23 with excessive watery discharge. We played the game of what am I leaking for most of the day. I started having very mild contractions on the 24th and my bloody show that day. Same thing on the 25th but not as bad. Woke up at 12:30am on the 26th and started having early labor contractions. They were every 5-10 minutes apart, lasting 30-60 seconds. I waited it out since I had a feeling it wasn’t quite time yet. It went on like that for 5 hours before pretty well subsiding. I would then have 1-2 mild contractions every hour. We continued with our days. I managed to sleep that night and had my midwife appointment the following day. She checked me and I was 4cm dilated and 80% effaced with baby -3 station. I got her to perform a membrane sweep since I was so close to active labor. That night, I had contractions quarter past and half past all night of every hour. I contacted my mom that morning since I felt that it was baby day. She went to work early to do what she needed and came over to watch my other 3 children for when I went into labor. My water broke around 5:00pm while I was using the bathroom (so I was very unsure at the time). Contractions started picking up around 5:30pm. They were coming every 3-5 minutes, lasting about 30-60 secs. I called my midwife around 7:00pm. She came to the house and checked me around 7:50pm. I was 6cm dilated and 80% effaced. Baby was sunnyside up so I was experiencing a lot of back labor. She called her second who showed up around 8:30. Around 9:00pm, I started feeling a lot of pressure and contractions were very close to each other. By 9:15pm, my body was pushing on it’s own. Our baby girl was born at 9:29pm on January 28th, at home. Her name is Aurora Shirley Kathleen. She was weighing 7lbs8oz and 19.5in. She latched immediately and has been a breastfeeding champ. She is already back and surpassed her birth weight.
