These reported numbers are bogus. Don’t believe them.  Do you know the CDC counts number of positive tests,  not actual cases?!? It’s true. One person in a nursing home will test positive 2-6 times and the number is reported as such, but it’s bullshit. Only one real case. I’m sure if your spouse speaks up to their parents and tells them that it isn’t safe for you & baby, due to your lowered immune system, that will help. It shouldn’t be, but covid has been too politicized, and if they are nonbelievers, discussing the safety of others wont help... hopefully “doctors orders” and the health of grandbaby (don’t even have to mention covid) will help! 
Ask if they’d be up for a virtual shower? They could even ship a mini bottle of champagne or a fun cookie, etc. to all the guests so everyone is enjoying the same treat. (I think some font like virtual showers bc you are asking guests to give without receiving anything.) personally, I HATE showers so I’d be thrilled to get off by sending a gift without any ridiculous games or forced conversation !!  😅

I did a virtual shower for this very reason and most people were happy to send their love and gifts, I did an Amazon and Target registry and got just about everything I needed! I’m not taking the chance of getting myself, my kids or
My husband sick 🤷🏼‍♀️

You are absolutely right!  We did a virtual shower and it was delightful. It’s just not worth risking everyone’s health. Baby showers are super trivial compared to lives.

Hell no with the amount of cases and deaths from the text I wouldn’t even risk it ! Especially if you already had it once. Just do a virtual shower or just set up the baby registry. I’m suppose to be doing my shower next month it will either be postponed to April or I will not be having one. Just something I have to figure out

You are in the right mindset to worry about your health over a shower, while they’re fun and a great way to see people Covid during pregnancy is not something to mess around with, especially closer to due date.  My sister was insistent also so I talked her into doing it virtual and only her and my mom who are in my inner Covid circle will be in person and I think it’ll be fun, people who wouldn’t normally be able to come due to distance can pop in this way to say hi at least. I am in the same situation I just don't have the energy to fight with my in laws. They practically called me over dramatic wheni tested positive and my husband was sick for over a month. It's like they live in this imaginary bubble that nobody gets sick.
