We've got a secret!

Lindsay

I was 💯 adamant that we would not find out the sex of the baby until birth. We waited with our first and all of my immediate family has waited for my nephews and niece so I didn't want to be the odd one out!

However at 22 weeks baby was confirmed to have a birth defect that will require assessment and treatment immediately after birth.

I had a discussion with my husband that I feel like it's too much for birth to find out sex then baby's wisked away.

Before my midwife apt yesterday I asked if I was finding out and he just said yes.

I so wish I had videoed our reactions! We just went for an ice cream date and sat in the car. My midwife was so excited she got a tech to do a quick peek and they gave us a scan.

We opened it and were completely shocked! Even though my intuition from the beginning was right everyone had me second guessing myself. My husband never wanted to guess for our first but voiced strong opinions on this one and was wrong!!

I'm really glad we had this little special moment just the two of us. I didn't expect to cry which I did. I didn't even cry when my first was born!

We're still going to keep it from everyone else which feels super exciting to have this little secret between us!!

I can't wait to meet this little one in 13ish weeks!!
