Black gum?

Anyone’s baby ever get a black almost bruised looking area on gum? He’s for sure teething but I’ve never noticed this on one of my kids before

That looks like an eruption hematoma or an eruption cyst! He should have a tooth pop through in just a few days!

It looks like it’s been working it’s way through the gums and there’s a little bleeding underneath. Once it pops through it should go away, if it doesn’t just call the ped.

So I would call your pediatrician to see but this is sort of what happened to my nephew. His teeth rotted out before they grew in, but my brother in law had the same thing happen when he was a baby too and the ped said it was genetics. Nothing major happened as it was just his baby teeth and I guess he had to have some sort of treatment to ensure his adult teeth grew in properly. Idk if this sort of thing runs in your family but it could also just be teething or he may had had a cyst that popped? I'd just call just in case! Hopefully it's nothing serious!

I think it actually looks like an eruption cyst because he’s been teething for about two days and I think they’re close to popping through.
