How to get rid of the discoloration?

Previous owner apparently used to use Apple cider vinegar in his baths so it etched our cast iron tub. Now it looks like this 🥴😬 any recommendations on how to fix it? Also any suggestions on what to do with the soap ledge in the wall? We aren’t going to redo the tile, and water always gets stuck in this soap ledge and it gets moldy and gross

There’s this cleanser called BAR KEEPERS FRIEND. And it is the ONLY thing I used on my tub to prevent stuff like this. It cuts through dirt and oil perfectly too.

Believe it or not, oven cleaner works wonders in showers/tubs that have really bad build up or discolouration. A customer of mine had a shower that went from this, to this (she’s still cleaning it in the picture) after oven cleaner

We had something that looked similar, although I’m not sure what caused ours. A paste made from peroxide and baking soda helped. We let it sit on the stains for about an hour. We repeated the process a couple of times and our tub was back to white after the third treatment. It wasn’t the most time efficient, but it was cheap and worked.

Try “comet cleanser with bleach” (the powder kind)..... or scrubbing bubbles.
