Am I crazy or is my husband just too cynical?
There's a homeless guy in our area that has been floating around here for a while, well over a year. We've helped him out once or twice before, he knows where we live (because he sleeps literally just a few metres away from our back wall, it's not hard to figure it out).
I was outside today and saw him for the first time in about a month. He said he had gone to another town to look for work but he had no luck so he's back here. He said he's really desperate, don't we have any work he can do.
Well, our gardening service dropped us after a disagreement (where they were in the wrong, billed us for services not received and then decided to rather refund and cancel our services completely) so we've not have any garden work done for about a month now, plus it's been raining pretty solid for about two weeks.
So I said to the guy that look our mower isn't working but he can come and do some de-weeding for us if he wants.
When I told my husband he almost flipped his lid. He was not happy that this guy knew where we lived (again, even though it's very easy to figure it out) and it's not even like he bothers us. He happened to catch me as I was outside, I doubt he'd even have called if I wasn't outside.
I'm the kind of person that believes that sometimes people just need a bit of a break, just a bit of help here and there. I mean we don't have the means for him to help regularly but once a month, sure. And that money will probably mean more to him than it does to us too. I'm not just handing him money, he will need to work for it.
Am I wrong?

My husband gives me free reign of the house, what to do and that.
