How do you get clomid?

Can I get clomid if I just ask the doctor or do you need tests ect?

I finally got it after about 18 months of trying. I did 3 months of testing, none of which was covered by insurance. It is not something you can or should just "get" easily.

You will likely need lab draws, an HSG, vaginal ultrasound, and for partner to have a semen analysis before a doctor will consider prescribing something. If you are under 35 and haven’t been trying for at least a year, they likely wouldn’t even run the tests.
Please don’t order on the dark web- as mentioned in other post. It’s not safe to take fertility medication without supervision of a doctor and to have the appropriate tests done

The doctor will likely make you go to a fertility specialist and there will be plenty of tests involved. I honestly ordered mine off the dark web, which I can not suggest for obvious reasons, but it works for me. 1 year of doctor visits and they aren’t any closer to diagnosing me or prescribing anything stronger than progesterone

It’s prescription medication so your doctor isn’t just going to give it to you unless you need it. Generally you will have to do tests and it is basically for people who don’t ovulate, although sometimes it’s prescribed for women with unexplained infertility too.

I think it is different by location. My cousin got it after 3 months of TTC and she’s 21. I was told if I wanted to try after 3 months I could, I’m 26. I think you have to run tests first but we weren’t asked to wait a year.

I got mine through my OBGYN after 3 cycles of trying. My cycles were very irregular and my dr said there were obvious fertility issues with late ovulation. I did day 3 blood testing and then was prescribed clomid and during that month my partner went through sperm analysis
