Ok first off there is really not a nice way to tell someone they smell or anything...lol. It seemed like he was trying to be decent about it at first but then yeah he got pretty douchey about it. Go ahead and go to the doctor though, I wouldn’t just trust those feminine washes either.

If he’s bringing it up it’s because it’s probably a strong (not normal) vagina smell which obviously was confirmed by your doctor as BV. BV freakin’ stinks, I know... I’ve had it. 
I don’t think he’s being rude about it and who knows how long you both have been dealing with it. I think he tried bringing it up in a way he thought was appropriate by suggesting something. Clearly he’s not as educated on the topic so he wouldn’t know if douching or washes are good for you or not. Women on here are contradicting each other so how do you expect him to know. 
I didn’t see anything about him saying he won’t have sex, just that he really wants you to get it fixed because it smells. I know it might be embarrassing and you might be inclined to get offended but this is for both of you. I would never have sex with someone if I stunk like fish and wouldn’t expect them to want to either.
