Bleeding or spotting a few days before ovulation

Is this normal? If this the first time to happen to me, should I mention it to my doctor? I had period like cramps stronger than the mittelschmerz I'm used to, all day. Took and OPK and it said I wasn't ovulating or close. It was only CD 13. 🤔
