Anyone deliver at 34 weeks?
Sorry this is kind of long, but I want to give some background so I’m not judged like I’m trying to have a baby right now.
I had my weekly appointment this morning to check her movement and growth. She did great as usual.
I was up literally the entire night last night with INTENSE, tear jerking contractions. I couldn’t talk through them at all. It’s been that way every night or every other night for the past week.
I was so emotional at my appointment because I’m utterly exhausted after being in labor basically since 27 weeks. (I had a couple week break between 30-32 weeks but then it started right back up but worse). Anyway, I ended up having a contraction while he was doing the ultrasound and I couldn’t talk and I started crying. Dr was concerned and asked me what was going on and I tried the best I could to speak the words “I’m having a contraction.” He let the contraction fade and then asked what I was feeling and I told him all over belly pain/lower back pain/pressure on my pubic bone and then I told him about last night and how I was so exhausted. He lectured me and told me I should’ve gone in.
I know, I know. Really. I just really don’t want to!! I don’t want to go back in and get awful shots that made me feel like crap. I don’t want to be sent home again and I also don’t want to have my baby at 33 weeks. That’s when he said well, after Sunday, I won’t be stopping labor if you come in. I was surprised because I thought he said 35 weeks before but I misunderstood him. He meant 34 weeks. Whoa. He also checked me and I was disappointed because I’m only 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I just figured all the contractions would have done more than that by now...more than a month later.
Mind you, I’m not doing ANYTHING to bring labor on. I’ve been so lazy and no sex. My body is just trying to get her out and I have to take oral meds all night to keep contractions spaced out. Well, as of this week they aren’t working anymore and he said that would happen. I’ve had steroid shots for her lungs so I feel better now that I’m further along with her.
Anyone deliver at 34 weeks?! How was baby? The earliest I’ve delivered was 35 weeks.
