Are cloth diapers worth it?

I have been looking into cloth diapers and wanted to see peoples opinions about them?

We considered cloth diapers for our first but ended up not doing it. All I could think whenever we changed a poo diaper (which is easily 5+ times a day the first months) is THANK GOD we didn’t go for it!

My husband and I did the math.
We got all our cloth diapering supplies which included:
20 size newborn diapers (4-20lbs)
36 OS diapers (fit 8-35lbs)
All the hemp/bamboo inserts for pocket diapers
Total Cost for diapering from birth to 3 years - $622
Then we did the math for disposables - the cost came to around $2,700 from birth to 3 years. 
The cost was well worth it for us. We got enough that we can do cloth laundry every 2-3 days. There’s definitely a little more maintenance and an upfront cost but it pays for itself very quickly.

OH another huge bonus... if you plan on having more children you already have the diapers so no cost at all at that point.

We’ve been using cloth my son’s whole life (19m). It’s awesome. He’s always leaked in disposables and recently I discovered his poop stinks in disposables... never had that happen in cloth. (His daycare requires disposable pull ups but we cloth 100% at home).

We used them for our last baby, however we kept disposables around in case we went on a long drive. We used maybe 1 pack of disposables a month of that. Definitely worth it if you're committed to the laundry lol

This will be my 3rd baby using the same diapers I bought for my first. It's definitely saved us money and becomes and easy part of our daily routine. I still keep some disposables for night time and long trips, cloth diapers funny have to be an all our nothing thing

I cloth diapered my first and love it! It’s definitely more work when you’re not used to it, but a chore I don’t mind doing now.

No idea! But I sure hope so! I'm taking the cloth route this time around...would've have dreamt of it with my daughter.  I've gotten more into using glass, less plastic..so I figured diapers would go right along with that. Thought about wipes too but idk!! You can buy bamboo diapers and wipes that are better for the environment,  but they are crazy expensive! 🤪

Pros: cheaper (like a lot), better on babies skin, fewer (if any) blowouts, better for environment, cloth diapered LOs potty train on average 6 months sooner than their disposable diapered peers. 
Cons: more upfront cost, more laundry 
Do your research & find a system that works for you. Get the diaper sprayer!

I know people who use them and love them! I love the idea of them, but to honest they just fit in our lifestyle. My husband and I work a lot, and I know this would put too much strain on us. I would also check with your daycare if you’re going to one to see if they will use them. Our daycare center will not use them.
