Heartburn
I'm 25w1d and the heartburn is unbearable. It wasn't this bad with my other pregnancies. I feel like I haven't slept in months at this point because it wakes me up multiple times in the middle of the night. My husband isn't sleeping either because I have to jump up because I wake up choking on the stomach acid coming back up and I start coughing uncontrollably. It hurts so bad when it happens and it happens and it's several times a night now. Is there anything safe I can do during pregnancy to help stop the heartburn besides tums?
Tums won't even tough the heartburn. I've tried sleeping sitting up, avoiding any foods that might give me heartburn, avoiding eating after 6pm, drinking milk, eating bland foods, and nothing is helping. Water is even giving me heartburn during the day. I used Alka Seltzer tablets in water one time and it helped. I know aspirin isn't good during pregnancy, but my OB has me on baby aspirin and I took the Alka Seltzer instead of the baby aspirin one night instead of the baby aspirin. I'm getting desperate and don't want to use the Alka Seltzer again in case it harms my baby. I have an appointment with my OB next week, but I can't handle the heartburn anymore and I don't want to take more prescription medication during my pregnancy.
