So about two days ago I went to the beach and I was on my period. I had got new tampons not long ago and had already used one. These tampons were bigger than the ones I’ve used before because I would leak through as they were very thin. The first time I put in the new one was for a workout and it was fine, but when I went to the beach I had to put in a tampon a few times bc it didn’t feel right (a new one each time, I think I only used 2). Once I was satisfied with the last attempt I went to the beach. When I was leaving I took it out and because it is bigger than ones I’ve had before it kind of hurt when pulling it out of the hole. Anyways, now two days later and I was at work and my vagina has been so itchy and uncomfortable but hadn’t felt anything until now. There is a little bit of red around where the tampon hurt coming out (as I was using a mirror to have a look).

Is it the start of a yeast infection? Or just irritation if the use of a new tampon that is bigger? And should I wait a few days to see if it goes away or tell someone?
