How many night feedings are you still doing ?

Question

My baby boy is still waking up at least twice. I’m trying to get him to fall back asleep by rubbing his head or chest. But also don’t know if he is hungry. Suggestions?

My little one has reverse cycled per my doctor so he was eating more at night and not getting enough during the day so she said to just slowly cut back how long I feed at night and make sure to put him asleep awake so he doesn’t learn boob means sleep (too late!)

Just once usually. It was every 3 hours, but now he will go about 7 before he wakes up. 
What really helped was making sure he was eating a lot during the day. I give him 4 ounces every 1.5 hours. He now gets all his calories during the day.
We are working on getting rid of the 2:30 am feed now but I feel like just getting up once is a huge improvement.

He goes to sleep around 7:30PM, and we do one feed around 5/5:30AM, then he’s back asleep until at least 7:00AM usually - I realized when working on his night sleep that after this point, he would not go back to sleep unless fed, so we turned it into a scheduled feed.

If he takes a paci id give that to him first and rub his belly/back if he doesn’t settle after awhile and he’s has a clean diaper isn’t too hot or too cold then I’d offer the breast/bottle. If he’s truly hungry he won’t go back to sleep so that’ll be a good indicator after you’ve exhausted all other options

I did the taking Cara babies programs and my son is a fantastic sleeper. I cannot recommend their program enough!

Babies should be able to sleep through the night now without a feed. I would prioritize getting as much in during the day. We still do a dreamfeed at 10:30pm and then wake up and feed at 7:30am

You can only find out by trying! The first night where i put my baby girl down to sleep without feeding her i felt SO guilty thinking what if she woke cos she was hungry and i havent fed the poor thing?! But then she slept for 3 hours so she clearly wasnt hungry! For night wakings now if i try to put her back to sleep without offering a feed and shes hungry, she doesnt settle. But most often than not she goes back to sleep without a fight.

We are just coming out of sleep regression. I was waking up 3-4 times a night with him but now maybe once.
