Fertility drop at 35?

Question

So I've seen some things say that your fertility starts to decline after 35 but I've also seen a lot of things that say you're more prone to have twins as your body is more likely to release more than one egg. So is it that its harder to fall pregnant but you still have a higher  chance of twins? Sounds like rubbish to me 😂

It starts to slowly decline at 30. 
People say 35 because that’s what the medical age thing is set at. It’s silly really because your fertility doesn’t drop off a cliff. It still continues to go slowly down.
Now I have been doing lots of research and paying attention to some specialist- they all say that it’s harder to get good eggs after 38. Doesn’t mean it’s not possible. I have a few friends who had kids at 40.

the twins thing is because 'older' women are more likely to release multiple eggs in 1 cycle. i dont know how common actually carrying fraternal twins to term is tho. it's more likely... but not exactly all that likely.

Your fertility declines as you get older and from 35 you can be considered “geriatric” from a fertility/pregnancy point of view. Apparently there is a slightly higher chance of having twins as you get older, but I wouldn’t think it’d make a huge difference.

Having identical twins is a kinda a genetic mutation. The egg isnt normally destined to split! Your body and eggs are more prone to abnormalities the older you get... Fluctuating hormones, genetic diseases, and twins in that sense.
Your stats on having more twins is also probably linked to older women getting more fertility assistance.

When I met with my OB in December to discuss TTC she said, unprompted, yes, twins is higher chance after 35. Tbh fertility starts to decline SLOWLY prior to 35, it just speeds up at 35. Total rubbish. Baby dust to you! ✨💕

My doctor told me that from 28-31 you have 1 out of every three eggs that may be viable. From 31-34 it’s 1 in 4, and 35-38 it’s 1 in 5, etc. which is why it’s harder to get pregnant after 30ish. I’ve never heard the twins thing!

Thanks for all your answers, I wasn't asking in the hopes of having twins was just curious. I'm trying for my fourth and final child and couldn't imagine having twins haha. When I was younger I just kind of assumed that you were still fertile until you were getting close to 40 😂😂
