Lactose baby

My daughter is going to be turning 1 next month and I want to get prepared to start her transition to milk. She drinks alimentum formula and I’m not sure what milk to transition her to. I’ve read if I give her almond milk I’d have to give her additional supplements since it doesn’t have enough as cows milk. Any recommendations? What have you moms tried with ur little ones?

You can give lactose free milk. That’s what I did.

Well it won’t let me. You can look up Lactaid. That’s the brand I used. There are other brands as well

Almond milk is actually very low in protein. I have been looking at hemp milk or ripple (pea milk) as they seem to have more protein but then less fats. Ultimately, I decided when he weans from the breast, he can just have water and a high fat and protein diet.

You can add an omega and vitamin d supplement to her diet to boost that. We do Nordic naturals

Yeah I was thinking of doing that too but unfortunately my daughter doesn’t eat good. She’s picky and doesn’t eat as much so I know she isn’t going to be getting much protein from just food

Any milk (or even no milk) will be fine if she gets proper nutrition from other foods throughout the day.

Would she do like a fruit smoothie with cows milk?

The prob is she isn’t a very good eater. She has days where she will eat fine but most the times she is picky and won’t eat much so that’s y I’m concerned about just giving almond milk since it doesn’t have much protein or vitamin d as cows milk
