I've posted on this topic before sort of, but got no replies.

My last paycheck was on Jan. 22nd, my boss says they cut everyone's hours. I asked why since then and no response. I don't know if it's cause of covid or they hired too many employees or what, but he hasn't had work for me since. Yes I've been looking for a new job.

I want to ask if I still have a job there cause ya know, after a few weeks you start to wonder. How do I ask him without sounding unprofessional? I'm very bad at phone calls, it makes me very uncomfortable so I tend to fuck up my words. I was hired on Dec. 3rd

Also, my aunt told me I can apply for partial unemployment cause of covid?? I don't know if hours were cut cause of that or what. Will I get in trouble if I try to apply?

I was just getting comfortable at this job too so it really sucks that I have to find a whole new one
