Weight & My cycles TTC

Tasha

Hey all! Here is my experience with TTC over the years. I had my son when I was a teenager, despite having irregular periods. During the time I conceived, I DID have a period the month prior. I weighed about 180 & I was 5’9. About 2 years later and weighing about 225, I got pregnant again but we decided collectively on an alternative to keeping it. Fast forward about 6 years and we were trying to conceive. My weight was 240 lbs & I was not having regular periods. My periods were coming every 4-6 months and were very painful. I started noticing that whenever my weight was over 230 pounds, my periods completely stopped. As soon as I would lose 8-10 pounds my breasts would get sore and my periods would return within a week of having the sore breasts, followed by regular menstrual cramps & not the horrible cramps I got when I was only having a couple periods a year. I am now 39 and aiming for a healthy weight as I would like to conceive within this year. I started working out & eating healthier (low carb, medium protein, no meat, low sugar, no salt) a week ago and my period started today after not having it for 5 months. I have not yet started TTC bc I want to reach my healthy weight first but I am hoping those months of not having my periods due to stress & weight helped me keep a lot of my eggs as it appears I will need them as I head into being 40🥴My advice is focus on your cycles first. When your cycles are regulated without meds, that’s a great place to start & for me it’s always been about keeping a healthy weight which I haven’t done in so long.

Baby dust to you all! ❤️
