Heavy metal in purées? What baby food do you give your little one?

That article scared me! What do y’all do for baby food? I was giving my baby organic purées from gerber but I’m not sure if I should continue after reading that article

Even if you make your own baby food, the soil that the fruits and vegetables are planted it will have small amounts of metal in them.

Honestly I’m planning to make them. There’s a food system that allows you to make baby food. At first I never wanted to do it but I think being able to test it out before baby takes solids for my older kids sounds like a good idea.

I homemade my children’s foods. 
I would steam veggies and would boil meat with seasoning until they were super soft and tender and blend them. For rice is just cook it into a congee. Add gravy, seasonings and anything you want. It’s how I introduced food to my children. When they were about 8 months old I started doing baby lead weaning which was so fun and easier on me.

We make what we can (sweet potatoes, carrots, butternut squash), but then we buy other foods that are more difficult to purée or that we just don’t have access to in -21 degree weather. The findings of the subcommittee are worrisome, but I don’t know what else to do at this point. Our children have to eat.
