No period spotted around 4 days

Spotting in between periods .. has anyone been through this . What should I do ? I SPOTTED brown discharge for like 2/3 days and still no period...does anyone know what this causes? I WAS SUpppse to start my period January 26 but never got it. I did a Pregnancy test the day before my expected period and was negative.
