Coronavirus families have been around for millions of years already. There's a reason why they don't have a cure for the common cold (which is a coronavirus) - because it keeps mutating like this new strain.

I think we don't really know. I don't believe any of the stories, because I have not looked into proof- but I don't really mind where it came from, I just want to get past it and manage well while it's an issue.

Most new diseases arise from animals. It's not a new or special thing. Swine flu literally mutated from pigs into other species. There is a species of fungus that attacks HUNDREDS of different kinds of insects, and specializes in each one. 
I actually think there's a disease that came FROM humans and mutated to affect cats. One of my exes cats had it and they said it's not deadly or anything but there's no cure because it's newer and they've usually only seen it in humans. I wish I could remember what it was. Might've been something like rsv?
But yeah. Covid came from bats. It's what diseases do. The amount of misinformation on this thread is deeply concerning.
