Am I paranoid? Human Trafficking scheme?
So, in my town we have a "checkpoints and hazards" Facebook page/group that basically everyone uses. Anyways, just before Thanksgiving, I remember there being a post about a woman being out with her children. They were approached by 2 women in Walmart insisting she bring her children to their Bible study and to give them her number and email so they could send her the information. She says she refused because something felt off to her and the two woman became angry saying this woman and her children don't love God and if they don't come to the Bible study they will all go to hell. So the lady left. And posted to warn other mothers because she was afraid it was a human Trafficking scheme.
Personally, I figured she was just hyperaware or hypersensitive because of the unfortunate world we live in and just scared.
Well, today my fiancé and I decided to go to Walmart. The same one the incident above happened at. We brought our 18 month with us (usually we get my Mom to watch her) but it was getting late and we were going to be quick.
We were in the paint area and there were 2 women we saw a few times carrying nothing. We went to the hardware area and they walked past again.
Later on we went to get out girl some snacks and almond milk and saw the ladies again. At this point an older woman came up to tell us how beautiful our daughter was and how she misses her grandchildren.
The older lady steps back and one of the 2 ladies from before come up, again with nothing no.basket nothing in her hands yet she's been im the store for at least 20 minutes. She says she noticed how cute our daughter was and wanted to give us a card with her number on it to get information on a Bible study for our daughter. Didnt ask for our information but kept asking questions about our child and saying how cute she was.
We walked away and told our daughter to wave bye and left. It all felt odd. While walking out we looked at the card and the number was out of our area. We left it in the cart.
Does this make you feel off? Am I being that hypersensitive mom?
