Do you get bored of your job?

Question

Lately I’ve been losing interest in working my job and become unmotivated. It’s a good company but sometimes things get sooo repetitive and boring. Anyone else deal with the same thing? How do you overcome it?

I remember that I have bills to pay and a standard of life I’d like to maintain, and that I’m lucky to have a good job. Even people working their dream jobs are going to have days or periods where they won’t love it and it’ll feel like work, it doesn’t change the fact that the work needs to get done.

I do accounting at a casino and have been doing this job for 23 years. I’ve been doing this job so long that I really don’t have to think too much about day to day work. I find the people I work with is what makes my job most rewarding. I’ve worked in a few casinos and it’s always my coworkers that make a job enjoyable. I listen to a few podcasts throughout the day too or audible book and that helps.

I think many jobs can have lulls and maybe boring moments, so first see if it’s temporary or if you’ve been feeling this way for a long time. And I also always ask myself how is this job helping me pursue my career goals? Is it helping you improve your skills or gain experience? Or are you stagnating? If it’s the latter, you can always look toward possible promotions or start looking at jobs with a higher level of responsibility/income
