Birth control patch

I started the bc patch a few weeks ago on a Tuesday. I took it off yesterday cause this is my week I’m supposed to start my period today actually, but it hasn’t started. Is this normal? Also if I don’t get it for a few days do I still put on the patch next Tuesday even if I’m bleeding?
