If you were induced, how long did it take you to get to 8-10 cm?

They broke my water and put me on pitocin at 9am today. I was already 1cm & 80% effaced. Contractions are currently every 2-4 min and they’re getting stronger. Is it normal to start that fast? It’s been 3 hours. I’m so uncomfortable!

Started Pitocin at 7am . Doctor broke my water around 8am . They upped my dose every 30 minutes . The nurse checked me at 10:50 ish and told me I was 7cm and within 15 minutes of that check I was already pushing on all 4s after she told me she just checked me and wasn’t time to push yet . Had baby at 11:09am . So from start to finish my induction “ went natural no epidural “. Was about 5hrs . I truly believe not having epidural made it so much faster but getting through those contractions was so hard !!

Well update...went in at 7:30am yesterday and didn’t give birth until 4:00am today (next day). 18 hours of labor and 1 hour of pushing 🙃

It depends how much Pitocin they are giving and how frequently. Also, breaking your water really speeds it up. I got induced at a 4. I had Pitocin for 5 hours before they broke my water. After I got the epidural and had my water broken, baby came very quickly. I was a 7-8 within the hour, then delivered 20 minutes later.

With my son my water broke but they put me on pitocin as soon as I got there and I had him 15 hours later. I dilated to a 7 before getting an epidural and after that I had him within 4 hours. Just depends on your body’s reaction to it.

I think they started me on pitocin around 6am, and my son was born at 11:18!  Really picked up when my body was able to relax on the epidural.
