When to head to the hospital ?

This isn’t my first, but I forgot to ask my doctor when I should head to the hospital ?  My contractions are about 10 min apart, hurt but manageable. 
With my first, I went when they were 5 min apart and only was 2 cm dilated.

That was me last night. Mine were 5 minutes apart lasting about a minute each but I had taken my meds for the evening so I fell asleep 😂

I remember with my first I got sent home twice for not progressing past 2cm...I just knew I felt like I was dying already😂
With #2 & #3 I waited at home as long as I could take it without feeling like I needed intervention. I try to track with an app but I end up just going with my intuition. 
Be mindful of how long it would take you to get to the hospital from your home & account for that (regarding traffic & whatnot) depending on the time of day it is when your labor. Gauge your pain level to match your estimated arrival time. It’s all luck of the draw though, just hope you don’t feel the need to push while you’re in the car still!

I’m pregnant with my first. My doctor told me that if I was having contractions lasting 1 minute about 5 minutes apart for an hour that I should head to the hospital. Not sure if it’s different since it’s not your first.

Every 4 minutes, lasting for 1 minute and have been continuing for 1 hour! You want to labor at home as long as possible because once you get to hospital labor tends to slow down with all the action and distractions going on
