Comfort feeding my toddler
So I am a FTM in my 30's. I thought I would breastfeed for the first year, and I did and it was great! With the pandemic going on, I figured I'd give my baby extra nutrients and stick with it until she turns 18 months. We did have a biting phase (8-10) months, but now that is over with we've been going good. But my lo is a comfort nurser, she has been since day1 . She misses first thing in the morning and about 5-8 times before we put her to bed with a breastmilk bottle at night. She eats 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. Sometimes she can be a picky eater, but she always wants the milk!!!
I restarted my menstrual cycle about a month ago, and I've noticed my attitude has somewhat changed about her nursing. She signs milk to me multiple times a day. If I go to the store, when I come back she always wants to immediately nurse. I'm feeling like she loves my milk more than she loves me.
Just wanted to hear if any other mamas out there are going through something similar it have any advice.
Thanks!
ETA-she's 14 months, so I have at least 4 months to go. I've thought about stopping earlier, but I know the benefits are good for the baby and she loves it so much. Honestly I could even see myself going until she is 2 years old if she wants. 🤷🏽♀️
