My kid had a tonsillectomy on 01/27 and was prescribed Tylenol and ibuprofen for ten days after. It has been 17 days post op and she doesn’t sleep. I’ve been up all yesterday and all night with her. She refuses to sleep. She has bags under her eyes so I know she’s tired but she doesn’t sleep like she normally does. It’s been like this for a good 4-5 days. I’m drained. She’s my step kid and her mother never has her and I was on the brink of breaking down because she tells us she’ll take her but has an appointment and backs out or she doesn’t want to come out in the cold weather to get her which isn’t an US problem it’s a HER problem. She never has her kid and barely has since she was four months. She will never know this feeling of being a mother, not a mom, but a mother to this kid. Being tired at 7:30 AM and running off three hours of sleep that you got a whole day ago. On top of that the kid is asking about her mom and wanting her to come around but she gets her probably 2-3 days a month if that. It sucks being everything to a child that’s not yours and they still want the absent parent and they see you as the villain because they can’t see them.
