Exploring IVF
Hi ladies. I feel I’m at a crossroads and I’m not sure what to do.
We have been ttc since April 2018
MC #1 January 2019 natural conception
MC#2 August 2020 from IUI#1
MC#3 November 2020 from iui#2
MC#4 jan/feb 2021 natural conception (surprise, didn’t know till I was bleeding)
So me being unable to get pregnant seems to not be the issue any longer, it’s maintaining the pregnancies. My doctors have run all the tests and have a few theories:
1) high natural killer cells. Not sure if we should explore this idea since he said the science and treatment was conflicting and controversial
2) our embryos aren’t healthy so go straight to ivf and pgs testing
I have wrapped my mind around the idea of ivf and we feel comfortable exploring that more but my RE said if I had issue #1 I would need a gestational carrier possibly. So now I’m not sure what to do. I’d hate to go through ivf, something we already can’t afford, just to be told we need a carrier which is just out of the question financially. My SO and I have been so sad since hearing this news. We decided it’s about time to give up but I can’t help but think about if ivf could work for us.
Any ladies been through something similar? Bonus: any ladies do the natural killer cells testing and would you recommend I do the same?
