I had THE WORST allergy to pads ðŸ˜
I was given these pads, closed never opened box, because my friend found out she was pregnant and said she wouldn’t be needing them. Okay, score! I use the diva cup and on my light days I just use a liner. Since I wasn’t going to work I figured I’d just try the pads out. When I opened the box and grabbed a pad I immediately noticed a strong perfume scent was coming from the pad. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t gross either? After wearing it for an hour I noticed that I could smell the scent of the pad even wearin thick jeans and I immediately didn’t like that. I don’t want to have a specific scent every time I’m on my period. I changed and noticed I was feeling a little sore. I thought maybe this was just a weird period so I took some pain meds to help with swelling. A little after that instead of feeling like it was getting better the feeling became steadily more intense and started burning and itching (worse than a yeast infection) so I made an appointment. I was using and changing these pads regularly for 48 hours and didn’t at all think allergic reaction. My doctor advised me to immediately stop use and gave me some topical ointment and told me to take some Benadryl when I got home.
This was my first allergic reaction to any pad, I usually try to stay away from scented pads and liners but when I read the box I didn’t see anywhere of it saying it’s scented. If you try to stay away from those products definitely don’t use this one or if you are sensitive be carful! If I would’ve put two and two together I should’ve stopped use when I felt swollen but
