Nursing one side and pumping the other?

Hey ladies so my baby bit me pretty bad and now I have three deep cuts on my left nipple. Is it okay if I nurse her on the right and then pump the left until it is healed over? 
It was an awful mess, she drew actual blood and I’m terrified to latch her as it is still very sore.

Sure. Another thing you can try is a nipple shield until it heals. You can get them at target.

Yup, I had this exact situation when my son was 9 months old. He just got his top teeth and was scraping them enough to cause a cut that wouldn't heal. I pumped one side for a week or two because the pain was too intense to feed him directly. Eventually I went back to nursing and had to keep switching to use different positions on both sides for awhile, just so his teeth weren't hitting the same spot every time.

Omg i just had this convo with my sister. My baby must have bit me or pulled too hard or something. He’s had teeth since 5 months (he’s now 7 months) and this is the first nip issue I’ve had in our breastfeeding journey. It hurts so bad I cry when he latches. And he’s a frequent snacker kind of kid. It was kinda sore for a few days and now I can actually see where it’s cut and raw. I told her I was choosing to just let him use that one twice a day and she said I’d regret it. But I just can’t keep doing it. The pain is on another level.
