Who else hates/doesn’t care for Valentine’s Day?

I’m happily married and my husband shows me he loves me everyday... for some reason I just hate Valentine’s Day!

People put way too much emphasis on it being about your significant other and all this lovey dovey couples stuff. 
But when I was a kid, before I started dating.. my dad would always get me a Valentine’s Day gift and card and I always loved it. 
It’s a day to focus on the love you have in your life. Not just from a bf or gf or spouses. But your family and friends and everyone in your life who you love. So I think it’s a great holiday. It just needs a rebranding.

Its my favorite holiday! Honestly bigger holidays like Christmas give me anxiety because of the pressure put on them, whereas valentines day is just an excuse for my husband and I to spoil each-other and celebrate our love together. Of course we take care of each-other everyday, but to me its just a sweet little 1 on 1 holiday that is fun to celebrate. I honestly don’t get all the hate it gets

The only part of Valentine’s Day that I like is getting a new houseplant. I told my husband 4-5 years ago that I don’t like cut flowers cause they die too quickly, so he started getting me houseplants and it’s my favourite gift by a long shot. That and the special dinner.

I only liked it for the money I made while serving in high end restaurants. One of the best money nights of the year. Also the most likely to have massive drama. I don’t see the need to have a holiday that basically shames people for not being super materialistic to show their love. It’s all kind of icky to me. And just unnecessary.

Im married and its just another day. We dont put too much focus on holidays. My husband surprises me with ice coffee and candy throughout the year. Much better when I dont expect it

I don't hate it but I really don't feel the need to make it such a big deal. If Valentines Day is the only day your partner puts in effort then you have bigger fish to fry. If your partner does show you normally then I don't see why such a fuss needs to be made of today.
