Should women with mixed/different race children learn how to do their child's hair?
From my personal experience this is a big fat yes ! I'm mixed with black and my mother was white. She had no clue how to do my hair and as a result I was known as the "nappy headed girl" or "lion king" at school. I struggled for years to figure out my hair because nobody in my family knew what to do with it. I HATED my hair because of this and actually had to shave my head due to the huge amount of damage I caused by constantly straightening it in high school.
I love my mama but I feel if she had learned to do a few styles or how to reduce frizz I would've loved my hair more as a child. I would've even loved to go to classes if they were available to figure out how to do my own hair as a kid.
